Obituary – Timmy Lyle “Tim” Felts Timmy Lyle Felts, age 48, of Grand River, Iowa, the son of Carl Lyle and Sandra Sue (Petty) Felts, was born March 29, 1970, in Leon, Iowa. He died at the home of his friend near Murray, Iowa on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. Tim grew up in Davis City, Iowa and graduated from Central Decatur High School in Leon, Iowa with the Class of 1989.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Saxton, Inc. in Leon, then Corell Contractor,… Read More » Inc. and later McAninch Corporation, both in Des Moines, Iowa. In his free time Tim was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed catching bass and catfish and hunting deer and coyote.

He loved his hunting hound dogs, especially, Turbo. He also enjoyed attending small animal auctions and spending time with his friends. Preceding him in death were his parents and his uncle, Jerry Hagen.

Survivors include his two daughters, Cassie Felts and Hali Snow, both of the Fort Dodge, Iowa area; two grandchildren, Klairah and Dylan Snow; cousin, Joe Hagen of Van Wert; sister, Tammy Short and husband, Tony, of Davis City; numerous aunts and uncles; close friends, Shane Hullinger and wife, Therese, and Scott Boswell and wife, Nicole, all of Davis City, Dave Garrett and friend, Tanya, of Lacelle, Iowa, and Ben Hatfield and friend, Jenny, of Murray; summer field trial friends; winter coyote hunting buddies; and other relatives and friends. A gathering of family and friends to remember Tim will be held at a later date. From Ben Hatfield: I would like everyone to know that I had always heard about cancer but I never fully understood it until Tim got it.

I have been his friend since high school and before, during, and after the cancer took him. I would like everyone to know that if you have a family history of cancer in your family, you need to get checked as soon as you can. To all friends and family of people with cancer – people with cancer need your support all the way through because time flies.

They need your support before, during, and NOT JUST AFTER their death. To all the people that came and visited Tim over the last few weeks, he really appreciated it and it made him very happy!
