Timothy (DON)’s Obituary Don Brazeal, 67, passed away at Northwest Texas Hospital on Friday May 24, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Dalhart with Marion Turner officiating. Don was born June 3, 1951 in Muscle Shoals Alabama.

He married Jean Ward July 17, 1972 in Trinchera, CO. They were longtime residents of Branson, Co where they raised 3 children, Billy, Melissa & Dillon. Don was a lifetime horseman & cowboy.

He was a gateman & trainer for horse racing tracks in California, Claremore, OK & Raton, NM. He was a cowboy for the Bell Ranch, River Canyon Ranch, 4 sixes (6666) Ranch, F&F Cattle Co. and the Carter Ranch. The last 18 years Don has worked as a pen rider in Dalhart, TX.

He was dedicated to his employers & took great pride in caring for the cattle and all of his horses. He was a very proud PaPa and loved his wife, children and grandchildren very much. He enjoyed sitting on the porch visiting with his family and having get togethers.

Don will be greatly missed and deeply cherished by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother Hazel Brazeal & stepfather Bernard “Braz” Brazeal and father in law Tom Ward. Survivors include his beloved wife Jean Brazeal of Dalhart,TX, son Billy Brazeal & companion Sara Wing of Hugoton,KS, daughter Melissa Lopez & wife Mendi, son Dillon Brazeal & Andrea all of Dalhart,TX.

Mother in law Rose Ward of Branson,CO. Grandchildren Brock Brazeal & companion Hailey White, Reed Brazeal, Gabby Bowers, J.J. Bowers & companion Teah Landress, Sierra Brazeal, LuKacey & Lakresha Roush, Kolton Russell and a great grandson Logan Mendez. Brothers Doug Bevis, Jeff Brazeal & wife Denise, Dennis Brazeal and sister Nancy Brazeal.

Sister and brother in laws Jackie & Charles Mock, Berta & Irwin Morton and Tommy & “Roachie” Ward and numerous nieces and nephews.
