Obituary of Todd Dowty Todd S. Dowty, of Shelton, beloved husband of Jane Corridor Dowty, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2018 with his loving family by his side. Born in Fall River, MA on September 11, 1956, he was the son of the late Clifford and Claire Slater Dowty. Employed by the Town of Hamden Board of Education, Todd was a teacher with 20 years of dedicated service and former football coach at Hamden High School.

Todd was a loyal husband, caring father, inspirational teacher, coach and a loyal friend to all who knew him. He dedicated his life to helping others and will be missed dearly by many. Todd had a special quality which made him a great mentor and confidant for all who needed him when it mattered the most.

He was a skilled craftsman who shared his talent and passion with others over the years. Todd was instrumental in the community and devoted countless hours to coaching various youth sports and volunteering in the school system. From being a pillar in the development of the Shelton Flag Football League to serving as a Commissioner on the City of Shelton WPCA, Todd was truly one of a kind.

To have known him was to have loved him. In addition to his beloved wife of 37 years, Jane, survivors include two loving sons, Brandon Dowty and Brett Dowty both of Shelton, three brothers, Daryll Dowty and his wife Nancy of Middletown, Gregg Dowty and his wife Liz of Maine and Scott Dowty and his wife Gloria of Massachusetts, an uncle, Clyde Slater and his wife Joan of Florida, two sisters-in-law, June Corridor and Carol Corridor; as well as several nieces, nephews, dear cousins and many friends. Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. directly at St. Joseph Church, 424 Coram Ave, Shelton for a Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Donations may be made to Bridgeport Hospital or the Shelton Flag Football League.
