Tommy Lee Hammonds September 02, 1934 – February 10, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Hammonds, Tommy Lee of Hueytown, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2019 at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Earley Hammonds; daughter, Rebecca Hammonds Parker (Jerry); grandchildren, Doug Parker (Thea), Amanda Parker McLellan (Mark), John Waid (Shelby), Carol Ann Waid; great grandchildren, Brynnlee Tissier, Jolene Waid, Mason McLellan and Leighton Waid. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maycie Thompson Hammonds and Alvin “Scrutch” Hammonds; sisters, Ruth Hammonds Thigpen (George) and Myra Hammonds Eubank (Red); daughter, Roxanne Hammonds Waid Ramey (Brian).

He loved his grand and great grandchildren, his many nieces, nephews and close friends. Tommy Graduated from Hueytown High School in 1952. He retired from Alabama Power after 42 1/2 years.

Tommy enjoyed hunting and fishing with lifelong friends Dr. Jack Dabbs, Raymond Fields, John Newsome and Alton Head. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home, 1300 4th Avenue North in Bessemer. Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev.

Robert Walker officiating. Graveside service will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, 3115 18th Avenue North, Bessemer. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions to your favorite charity or American Heart Association 10 Glenlake Pkwy NE, South Tower Ste 400, Atlanta, GA 30328 or www.
