Bonnie’s Obituary Bonnie Young of Cozad passed away Monday, March 18, 2019 at Meadowlark Pointe Assisted Living at the age of 89. Bonnie was born November 8, 1929 in Cozad, Nebraska to Henry and Mary (Harlan) Harding. She graduated from Cozad High School.

She taught at a rural school near Eustis for one year. On May 20, 1950, she married Neil Young. The couple was blessed with three children.

Family was everything to Bonnie. She was very involved with the children’s activities and loved cooking meals for the family. Bonnie enjoyed sewing and playing tennis.

She was a long time member of the Cozad United Methodist Church. She was actively involved in church circle, Bell Choir, served the board and many committees and helped with Kids of the Kingdom. She was a member of PEO, Eastern Star and served on the Job’s Daughters Council.

Bonnie was involved with the Henri Museum where she served on the board for many years. She volunteered her time helping with the Chapter One Program at the elementary school. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and son-in-law, John Neary and brother, Leroy Harding.

Survivors include two daughters, Sheila (Bob) Hardt of Overland Park, KS and Claudia Neary of Omaha, NE; a son, Marcus (Mindy) Young of Cozad; 7 grandchildren, Emily (Brent) Hassenstab of Omaha, Katie (Andrew Perkins) Hardt of Overland Park, KS, Dreu (Brynn)Young of Cozad, Alyson Young of Cozad, Conor Young of Lincoln, Kylie Neary of Omaha and Brian (Katlyn) Neary of Omaha; 5 great grandchildren, Will Hassenstab, Everly and Emerson Perkins, Maddux Young, Eastyn Green. Memorials can be directed to the family in her name for later designation. Online condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com.

Services will be Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cozad United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Gahn officiating. Burial will follow at the Cozad Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1pm to 8pm with family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm at Berryman Funeral Home.
