Patricia Espy Merritt July 17, 1947 – March 08, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Patricia Espy Merritt, 71, of Alliance, AL passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019. Patricia was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. She retired from Social Security with 40 plus years of service.

Patricia was a loving mother, proud grandma and memaw, and a devoted friend to all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Tyler Merritt; her sisters, Ruby Jane Espy and Doris Ann Pate and her brothers, David and Walter Espy. Patricia is survived by her sons, Scott Merritt and Ron (Shirley) Merritt; her grandchildren, Jeremy (Tabitha), Felicia, Kristina, Emily, Amanda Merritt; her brother, Marion “Chuck” (Patsy) Espy; her sister, Barbara McCarty along with several nieces, nephews and extended loving family and friends.

Church service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Baptist Church. In state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with burial following at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 13, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home.
