Anyone who knew Ruby knew she was truly an angel on earth. Ruby was a cosmetologist and owned “Ruby’s Beauty Salon” for over 41 years.

She had many customers (friends) that absolutely adored her. Ruby was honestly one of the kindest, sweetest and beautiful people that ever lived. Her family will truly miss her beautiful smile and kind heart.

Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil DeFoor; her daughter, Cecilia DeFoor Whaley; her sons, Terry DeFoor and Lance DeFoor; her parents, Bivie Allan Getts and John Henry Getts and her brother, Burns Getts. Left to remember this precious angel are her 4 grandchildren whom she adored. Anna (Matt) McCaslin, Andy (Casey) Whaley, Shawn (Kori) DeFoor and Shane (Brittany) DeFoor.

She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Jerrie Lynn DeFoor and by her precious great grandchildren whom she called her “beauties”. Hudson and Hayden McCaslin, Lexie and Colt DeFoor and Millie Claire DeFoor. We are grateful for the 87 years we were blessed to have “Meme”.

There will be a Memorial Service honoring Ruby on Friday, March 8, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Oasis of Praise 6922 Pocahontas Road, Bessemer, AL 35022. Bishop Allan Kendrick will be officiating the service.
