Freda Lambert Sheffield October 15, 1918 – May 06, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card SHEFFIELD, FREDA LAMBERT (MAMAW) age 100, of Hueytown went home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2019. She was a beloved member of North Highlands Baptist Church in Hueytown and devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her indomitable spirit, courage and strength were a Godly example to all who knew her.

She was a passionate and dedicated leader in community, civic, and cultural organizations at the local, state, and national level for many years and formerly served as a member of the Hueytown City Council. She was an avid Alabama football fan who, even in her last days, was very quick to say, “Roll Tide”. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years, Willard J. Sheffield, and great grandson, Tucker Sheffield Beam.

She is survived by daughters, Deborah Beam and Lori Brooks (William); grandchildren, Jason Beam (Courtney), Josh Beam (Jeremi), Julie Mears (Tim), and Katie Dyson (Benji); great grandchildren, Lily Beam, Micah Beam, Anthony Beam, Ellie Beam, Ashleigh Beam, Rileigh Mears, Sadie Mears and Skylar Dyson. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. at Bessemer Brown Service on Wednesday, May 8 with a memorial service immediately following. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Rev. Michael Wallace will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to North Highlands Baptist Church, 4851 15th St. Road, Hueytown, AL 35023, (205) 491-7921 or to a favorite charity.

Bessemer Brown Service will be directing. The family would like to thank the staff at The Oaks on Parkwood and Comfort Care Hospice for their care and compassion.
