Obituary for Tony Ramon Hill Sr It is with great sadness that the family of Tony Ramon Hill, Sr announces his passing on Sunday, October 28, 2018, at his home after a brief illness. He was born January 7, 1947 in Borger, Texas and was a 1965 graduate of Borger High School.

Tony was also a member of the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. Not long after he returned to the United States, he began working at Laurel Furniture Company. It was at this job that he met the love of his life, Mary Ann Waltman, while delivering a swing set for her little sister.

They were united in matrimony February 21, 1970, and celebrated nearly 49 years of marriage. Tony was a hardworking family man that spent days, weeks, and sometimes months away from home earning a living for his family. Over the years, he enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and watching old western movies.

He cheered enthusiastically from the sidelines at his son’s and grandson’s football games. Affectionately known as Papa, he adored spending time with his grandchildren. Tony was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Hill; his sister, Debby McBride; and his brother-in-law, Richard Waltman.

Tony is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Hill; son, Tony Hill, Jr; son, Michael (Ashleigh) Hill; grandson, Zachary Hill; granddaughter, Abby Hill; Dad, L.D. Hill; Sister, Vicky (Kenny) Day; Sister, Sandy (Gary) Atkinson; Sister, Terri Hill Stringer; sister-in-law, Lisa Waltman; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pastor Thomas Montgomery will be officiating the service honoring the life of Tony Hill, Sr. Please join us at 4:30 P.M. Friday, November 2, 2018 at Eastview Baptist Church in Laurel, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church.
