Mr. Tony Ray Sapp, age 27, of Cottageville, entered into rest Saturday morning, June 16, 2018, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston following a courageous battle that showed the insurmountable strength he possessed. Born June 3, 1991, in Charleston, South Carolina, he was a son of Phillip Craig Sapp and CJ Ray Sapp. He was a graduate of Colleton Preparatory Academy in Walterboro, Class of 2010, having lettered in football with the Warhawks and also played basketball.

He was employed as a gel coater with Scout Boats in Summerville. Tony was an amazing man, who loved his family, the outdoors, enjoyed sports, riding four wheelers, and being at the Edisto River. He lived each day to the fullest, living as an inspiration to anyone who knew him.

He was raised in the family home church of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Round O. Surviving are: his parents of Round O; the light and love of his life, Breanna Jo Hall; his son, the greatest joy he knew, Grayson Parker Sapp of Cottageville; four siblings, Tiffany Baker, Jessica Sapp, Phillip Tylor Sapp, and Kaci Jewel Sapp; his grandmothers, Mrs. Sandra A. Ray of Glennville, Georgia and Mrs. June M. Calloway of Claxton, Georgia; and Breanna’s parents, whom he dearly loved, Tate and Ida Parker of Cottageville as well as their family. He is also survived by a large and loving host of friends who he always knew as family. Flowers will be accepted, or for those that so desire, the family has requested that memorial contributions be directed in his memory to: Hollings Cancer Center, 86 Jonathan Lucas Street, Charleston, South Carolina 29425.

Funeral services will be conducted 4 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, June 20, 2018, from First Baptist Church of Walterboro, 124 South Memorial Avenue in Historic District of Walterboro. The Reverend Dr. John Carrigan officiating. Interment will follow in Cottageville Cemetery, Old Jacksonboro Road, Cottageville.

As we celebrate his life and accomplishments, the family has requested that those in attendance dress in bright colors as Tony would have liked. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation and celebration of his life from 6 o’clock until 9 o’clock this Tuesday evening at THE BRICE W.
