Tracie entered life Friday, June 9, 1961, the youngest of five children born to Robert and Vyrene Easley, on a calm sunny day where the temperature was about 75 degrees. When she came home she was passed through the welcoming arms of Janet (4), Kenny (5), Don (15), Georgianna (17), Aunt Claude and grandmother Nannie here in Fort Wayne. She was a loving and carefree child who enjoyed being around family, friends and neighbors.

As a young and more mature adult these traits continued. Tracie enjoyed the company of people and easily adapted to the culture in which she found herself. She moved to Waco, Texas, to take care of Aunt Claudelle Baker.

She stayed when her mom also moved to help with Aunt Claude’s care. During this time Tracie found through medical diagnosis that she had early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. She remained in Waco until she herself needed additional help.

She succumbed to this dreaded disease on Thursday, October 4, 2018. Ironically, it was the date of her mother’s funeral services and notice of a dear cousin’s passing. Tracie leaves to mourn her passing her brothers and sisters Georgianna (Anderson) Watkins, Donald Easley, Kenneth (April) Easley, Fort Wayne, and Janet (Bruce Ward) Easley, Cahokia, IL; nieces and nephews: Carla Watkins, Shaunti Watkins, Houston, TX; and Jacquelyn (Shon) Phoenix, Kemberly (Reggie) Tharp, Fort Wayne, IN; Marcus Easley, Birmingham, AL, LaTressa Easley, Little Rock, AR; Christopher (Ginger) Easley, Fort Wayne, IN; Danielle Easley, Swansea, IL; Keisha Easley, O’Fallon, IL; and Steven Easley, Jacksonville, IL.

She also leaves great nieces and nephews: Julian Sanders-Watkins, DaMecca Shaw, Jamel Roane, Bethany and Ashton Easley; Keioni Wimes, Jalen and Jasean Easley; Dakotah Easley, Steven, Jr. and Kamoni; and one great-great nephew, Greyson Spangler-Watkins. Other family members include the Wilson, Isaac and Easley cousins and special friends who also grieve Tracie’s transition. Others who mourn Tracie’s passing are the staff and management of Summit City Nursing and Rehabilitation and Heart to Heart Hospice—Denise, Marci, Angela, Mary and Amanda—and friends she made along her life’s journey.

Immediate family members Tracie has joined are her parents, Robert L. and Vyrene E. (Isaac) Easley; grandparents, Jesse and Georgia G. (Adams) Isaac, and grandparents, John and Cordelia Easley.
