Tranquilino L. Ravelo, resident of Guttenberg, N.J. passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 20th, 2019. Tranquilino was born to Vicente and Caridad Ravelo in Las Villas Palmiras, Cuba on July 6th, 1933. Tranquilino brought his family to the United States on the 1969 Freedom Flights.

He worked in New York City for 30 years in building maintenance. He was a member of the 32BJ Union and retired from 40 Wall Street in 1993. Tranquilino was fiercely loyal to his family and always attended to their needs.

He loved to share meals with his children and grandchildren, followed by an episode of his favorite game shows, Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune. Tranquilino loved to make friends wherever he went and end his evenings checking the numbers on his lottery tickets. Tranquilino will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 65 years, Lydia, his two children; Maria Licciardello of Barnegat NJ, Alejandro Ravelo of Union City, NJ and his 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
