Ula’s Obituary Ula Christine Munro Garrison, daughter of Wilburn H. Munro and Delda M. Byington Munro, both deceased, passed away on January 31st, 2019 at the City Creek Acute Care facility in Salt Lake City, Utah of complications from Liver and Kidney disease. Ula was born on April 7th, 1950. She was 68 years of age.

She is survived by her Husband of 41 years, Steven C. Garrison, aged 70. Ula and Steve met on highway US-95 North of Winnemucca, NV. Steve was a Deputy Sheriff of the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department.

Ula was caught speeding and Steve wrote her a speeding ticket. He likes to joke that he’s been paying for it ever since. Ula didn’t think Steve’s joke was that funny.

Ula is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Steve converted just before they married on April 2nd, 1977. They had no children, but they had each other and it was enough.

Ula held many jobs during their marriage, but the one she loved the most was as a Court Clerk for the Eureka County, NV Justice Court. Ula was also the State Secretary of the Nevada State Court Clerks Association. A position she held for close to 3 years Ula was diagnosed with NASH, a non-alcoholic form of cirrhosis in 2013.

She and Steve moved from their home in Eureka, NV to Salt Lake City in order to qualify for a liver transplant at the University of Utah Hospital. She was on the list for almost five years but her disease expanded to include her kidneys, much faster than anticipated, causing her death. Ula has four Sisters; Judy Munro Woodworth; Sharon Munro, Bonnie Munro and Debbie Munro.

She also has four Brothers; Royal Munro, Bradley Munro and Rex Munro. She was active in her Church callings including Young Women’s President as well as Relief Society President. She will be greatly missed.

Services will be held on Friday, February 8 at 11 a.m. at the Soda Springs 5th Ward Chapel (361 S. 3rd E.). Family will visit with friends on Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Church prior to services.
