Valerie A. DeNardo, 60, of Hazlet, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank, New Jersey. She was born Valerie Anstett on March 4, 1958 in Jersey City, New Jersey and as a young child in 1959 moved to Hazlet, New Jersey with her family where she has lived for her entire life. Over the years, Valerie worked as a gym teacher for the Hazlet School System and was especially well known among her fellow staff and students for her lip-sync shows and field days.

She was also a Field Hockey and Track Coach for Raritan High School, as well as a coach for her daughter and son. Valerie was a world-renowned prankster, a master of disguise and a gag-gift enthusiast among her family and friends. She loved the beach and swimming and also enjoyed photography.

She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by her father, Raymond Anstett and her sister, Kristi Mulhern. Valerie is survived by her adoring mother, Marie (Weatherall) Anstett, her beloved and devoted husband, Michael DeNardo, her loving children, RaeJillian DeNardo and Max DeNardo, and her dear sisters, Karen Falcone and her husband, Gary, and Pamela Anstett Parke and her husband, Tom, along with many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Valerie will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 10:00 PM and Tuesday morning, December 11, 2018 from 8:00 to 8:45 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet, New Jersey 07730. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tuesday morning, December 11, 2018 at 9:30 AM at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 Highway 36, Union Beach, New Jersey 07735.
