OBITUARY Van C Porter Jr. February 25, 1928 – January 1, 2019 Van C Porter was born on February 25, 1928 and passed away on January 1, 2019. Van C Porter was born in Paducah, Texas to his Mother Bunia Vesta Davidson and his Father Vandever Clarence Porter Sr He attended Paducah High School, and following graduation, enlisted in the U.S Army.

Throughout his life, Van worked for many years in the construction business, as well as for the Tom Thumb Pharmacy. He retired at the age of 83. Van was also a Deacon and longtime member of the Primitive Baptist Church of Dallas.

Van C Porter is preceded in death by his first wife Earlene Porter, his Daughters Mary “Sherlene” Dean and Vannah Hull, his grandsons Blake Dean and Steven Bivens, and his Brothers Luther Porter and Dewey “Sam” Porter, his granddaughter Brandy Michelle Chamness. Van is survived by his Wife, Andrea Porter of Dallas, Texas, his Daughters, Debbie Byers of Garland, Texas and Linda Brundidge of Sachse, Texas, and his Step-Daughter Kristen Harrison of Richardson, Texas, as well as many Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Grandchildren. Services for Van Porter will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 with a viewing beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at First Primitive Baptist Church 1920 Gross Rd.

Dallas, TX 75228. The burial will be take place Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Kinnard, Ronnie Mallow, John Chase, Webb Crocker, Drew Crocker, and David Kirkpatrick.

Honorary Pallbearers will be JT Chase, Caleb Crocker, Eric Mallow, Bruce Mallow, Austin Kirkpatrick, and Ron Johnson. The Funeral Service will be officiated by Minister Elder Clifford Gowens, and Minister Elder Mark Rowell.
