Van Paul Archer November 26, 1946 – September 14, 2018 GRANGER – Van Paul Archer, 71, residing in Granger, Indiana passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN. Van was born on November 26, 1946 in St. Joseph County, Indiana to the late Stanley P. Archer and Violet E. (Hizer) Archer and has been a lifelong resident of this area. Van attended Centre Township Elementary School on the south side of South Bend and later went on to attend Riley High School.

Van proudly served our country in the Army National Guard of Indiana, First Battalion, 150th Artillery and was honorably discharged on October 24, 1971. He also served in the United States Navy and Navy Reserves and was honorably discharged on November 29, 1975. Van worked for many years at AM General and at Creation Windows, Elkhart, IN.

Van is survived by his son, Dan Archer (Stacy Rombkowski) of Granger, and granddaughter, Violet Danielle Archer. Also surviving is the mother of his two sons and former wife, Beverly Archer of South Bend. Van was preceded in death by his son, Tim Archer.

He was also preceded in death by his two sisters and a brother. A memorial service with military rites will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave. , South Bend, IN 46615, where friends may gather with the family one hour prior to services.
