Veda Jean Harris, 72 of Kewadin, died Wednesday, December 26, 2018 at Munson Medical Center. She was born July 12, 1946 in Logan, OH the daughter of John and Veda (Duncan) Bachus. Veda was an active member and Elder at Church in The Hills, Bellaire and Northbrook Presbyterian Church, Beverly Hills.

She was involved with the Lion and Lioness Clubs of Central Lake and was the Immediate Past President of the Lioness Club. Veda enjoyed decorating and playing sports such as softball, golf and bowling and was fondly referred to as “a force”. She was a friend to all she met and loved being “nana” and spending time with her grandkids.

On Jan. 27, 1973 in Grandview Heights, OH, she married Gordon Harris who survives. Also surviving are her children Grant (Heather) Harris of Gross Pointe Woods, Valarie Harris of Redmond, WA, Marjorie Harris (Squirrel Gilbert) of Oak Park, her brothers John (Charlotte) Bachus of MN, Brian (Jennifer) Bachus of Huntsville, AL, her sisters Joan Salmons of Johnstown, OH, Debbie Champ of Logan, OH, her grandchildren Karly and Kaitlin Harris and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her brother in law Ted Salmons. A memorial service will be held in the spring at Northbrook Presbyterian Church. Memorial donations can be directed to the Central Lake Lions Club.
