Obituary for Mrs. Velma Clark McBride Velma Clark McBride, 76, of Tallahassee, peacefully passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018, while surrounded by her family. A daughter of the late John Bennett and Florida Ferrell Clark, she was born in Tallahassee on January 3, 1942. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Maxwell Guilford McBride; and brothers, Harold Clark (Dot) and Walter Clark.

She went to work for the State of Florida Comptroller’s Office as a secretary and later advanced and retired as an Accountant. In her spare time, she enjoyed puttering in her yard, sewing and shopping. She also loved attending family get-togethers.

Survivors include her daughter, Jill McBride-Weinischke (Brad); grandchildren, Jean White (Jacob), Kenny Weinischke and Nathan Weinischke; and siblings, Pat Milam (Paul), Amy Van Ormer (Gene) and Bobby Rainey (Chuck); and a brother, David Clark (Lisa); sister-in-law, Phyllis Clark. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The funeral is 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Abbey Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends an hour prior to the service.

Interment will follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Leon County Chapter. Online condolences may be expressed at www.
