Obituary for Vera Bowers Thompson Vera Bowers Thompson, 76, of Summerville, wife of the late Richard Wayne Thompson, Sr., passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at her residence. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 6 o’clock to 8 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 11 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Rd. , Summerville, SC 29485. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Intrepid Hospice, 2694 Lake Park Drive, 1st Floor and 2nd Floor, N. Charleston, SC 29406.

Vera was born on July 7, 1942 in Summerville, SC, daughter of the late Gary Jasper Bowers and Cleo Burbage Bowers. She enjoyed hanging out with her sisters and cousins. Survivors include: one son: Richard “Rick” Wayne Thompson, Jr. (Sandra) of White Oak, GA; two daughters: Lisa Thompson Hutchinson (Darrin) of Summerville and Julia Thompson Clifton (Chris) of Summerville; six grandchildren: Brianne Craven (Phil), Wren Hutchinson (Kayla), Devon Hutchinson, Olivia Clifton, Madelyn Clifton, and Mason Clifton; six great grandchildren; two sisters: Louise Sharpe of Goose Creek and Violet Legette (Jimmy) of N. Charleston.
