Verdell R. Pohlman, of Cary, formerly of Barrington, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the age of 100. She was born March 6, 1918 in Wauconda, the daughter of George and Emma (nee Winkler) Elsner. Verdell was a life-long member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Barrington.

She was also an avid quilter. Verdell is survived by her daughters, Patricia (Tom) Malmgren of Knoxville, TN and Pamela Pohlman; her grandchildren, Steven Malmgren and Jennifer Malmgren Gloeckner; her 5 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Pohlman.

Services for Verdell will be held privately for her family. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ, 401 E Main St., Barrington, IL 60010.
