Verna Mae Walker, age 92 of Perham, MN passed away in Perham Living Transitions on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1 at Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service in Perham. Burial will be in the Perham Village Cemetery.

Verna was born April 20, 1926 in Auburn, NE the daughter of Robey and Millie (Taft) Mehlin. She married the “Love of Her Life” Arthur A. Walker on February 14, 1945 in Lincoln, NE. The couple spent the next 58 years together loving each other.

Verna and Arthur moved to Perham in 1965 where they raised their family until the family moved to Battle Lake, MN in 1970 when they purchased and operated the Shoreline Café until 1976. Surviving Verna are her five children Larry Walker of Perham, Steve Walker of Sun Lakes, AZ, Sue Kness of Gold Canyon, AZ, Becky Miller of Vergas, MN and Bob Walker of Frazee, MN. Verna was blessed with 12 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law Debbie Walker and Darla Walker; and son-in-law Ron Kness.

Preceding Verna in death were her parents; her husband Arthur in 2003; and her brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Perham Living. Schoeneberger Funeral & Cremation Service, Perham, MN (218) 346-5175 www.
