Vernon Dale Bennett of Columbia, the son of the late Morris Vernon and Evelyn (Tabor) Bennett, was born April 15, 1953 in Adair County, KY and departed this life on Friday, March 15, 2019 in Columbia at his home. He was 65 years of age. He was of the Baptist Faith, a former auto detailer, a carpenter and mechanic and was a musician for a local country/rock band known at the Sterlings.

Survivors include two sons: Bobby Bennett of Columbia and Juston Bennett of Russell Springs; three grandchildren: Nathan and Delaney Bennett and Minley Bennett; a special friend: Anita Napier of Columbia. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: David Gale Bennett. At the request of Dale, cremation rites were honored by L.R. Petty Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Campbellsville.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
