Obituary for Vickie Lea Gleason Vickie Gleason, 67, of Ottumwa passed away June 11, 2018, at her home in Ottumwa. Vickie Lea Gleason, daughter of Lester E. and Frances (Kirkendall) Bartlow, was born March 20, 1951, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Following her 1969 graduation from Oskaloosa High School, Vickie traveled to Jeffersonville, Indiana, where she attended nursing school.

After completing her education, Vickie returned to Oskaloosa where she practiced nursing. Vickie also resided in Knoxville, Omaha, and Hawaii throughout her lifetime and practiced nursing and later paramedic and phlebotomy in each location. She retired in 2005.

Vickie also met Michael Gleason in 2005, and they were married March 22, 2007. She was a member of Jubilee Family Church. She enjoyed creating jewelry and loved spending time with her family, friends and her dog Darwin.

Her family includes her son, Stacy Bartlow of Crestview, FL; her daughters: Kimberly (Jay) Cahill of Knoxville and Wendy (Bronco Watson) McKinney of Ankeny; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a niece; and special friend Rochelle Vertz. In addition to her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by her husband, Mike on August 6, 2012; and her brothers: Richard Bartlow and David Duke. As was her wish, Vickie’s body has been cremated.
