Victor Weldon Hesseltine, Jr. passed away June 24, 2018 at his residence with his loving family at his side. He was 82. Weldon was born November 9, 1935 in Woodsboro, Texas to Eloise (Gibson) and Victor Weldon Hesseltine, Sr

He was a resident of Sinton most of his life. Weldon was formerly employed as a Pipefitter with Reynolds Metals for 43 years. Weldon was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sinton where he was an active member in his Sunday School Class.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved golfing and hunting. One of the biggest thrills of Weldon’s life was attending the 2016 Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta, GA. He enjoyed challenging himself with brain teasers and was a dedicated fan of sports.

More than anything, Weldon doted on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Preceding in death are his parents: Victor Weldon Sr. and Eloise Hesseltine; and brothers: Melvin and Jim Hesseltine.

Survivors include his wife: Rayma Jean Hesseltine of Sinton, Texas; Vicki McCoy (Mark) of San Antonio, Texas; Rick Hesseltine (Betsy) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Terry Hesseltine (Debbie) of Springdale, AR; grandchildren: Dustin McCoy (Megan), Travis McCoy (Zaneta), Holly Philippi (Adam), Julie Johnson (Keith), Jessica Meier (Robert), Kate Watson (Kyle), Kirstie Southard (Travis); great-grandchildren: August, Nathan, Samantha, Josephine, Preston, Khloe, Parker, Andrew and Beckett; brothers: Morris, Donny, Ronny and Gerald Hesseltine; and sisters: Welna Givens and Annette Imes; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at Resthaven Funeral Home, Sinton. The family will receive guests from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, June 27, 2018, 10:00 AM the the funeral home with Pastor John Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in Sinton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of choice in Weldon’s memory.

The Hesseltine family wishes to thank Altus Hospice and Staff for the care they provided Weldon. A special thank-you is extended to his caretakers, Rose Osborne and Rachel Pena. Thank you all for the love, care and support you extended our beloved Weldon.
