Sinton – Josephine “Josie” Gonzales passed away June 5, 2018. She was 73. Josie was born in Taft, Texas on November 30, 1944.

She made Sinton, Texas her home most of her life and spent her younger years in Taft, Texas. Josie was an associate of Walmart for 10 years. Josie is preceded in death by her husband: Jose Gonzales; her parents; and sister: Mary “Lucy” Maldonado.

Survivors include sons: Gary Gonzales (Sandra S.) of Sinton, Texas; George Gonzales (Margie) of Karnes City, Texas; Joey Gonzales of Sinton, Texas; Johnny Gonzales (Lori) of Arlington, Texas and Billy Gonzales of Sinton, Texas; daughters: Laura Williams of Arlington, Texas; Betty Reyes (Ernest) of Sinton, Texas and Jennifer Tobar (Mile) of Sinton, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers: Johnny Maldonado of Corpus Christi, Texas and Mike Pena (Pat) of Lubbock, Texas; and sister: Sylvia Juarez of Phoenix, Arizona. Visitation will begin Sunday, June 10, 2018, 4:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home Chapel, Sinton. A rosary will be held the same evening, 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, June 11, 2018, 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Sinton with Father Glen Mullan as celebrant. Burial will follow in Eternal Rest Cemetery, Sinton. Pallbearers will be Nathan Gonzales, Justin Gonzales, Mark Ruiz, Jordan Reyes and Noah Cortinas.
