Vida Smith, age 94 of 615 York St., Sanford, NC passed on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Westfield Rehabilitation & Health Center, Sanford, NC. Vida Minter Smith was born December 6, 1924 to the late Tom and Mary Sue Minter. She departed this life on Thursday, December 20, 2018.

Vida was married to James Edward Smith. To this union two children were born, Harry James and Alice Faye. Vida was a loving and caring person with a big heart, would do anything for anyone.

She was a member of New England AME Zion church which she attended faithfully until her health declined. But that did not stop her from participating in the “friends and family day program” which she truly enjoyed. She worked at Coty for 35 years and never missed a day.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, James Smith; daughter, Alice Fay Blue; son-in-law, Willie Blue; parents, Tom and Mary Sue Minter; four sisters, Viola Street, Lucille Minter, Lulamae Minter, and May Minter; three brothers, Owen Minter, Hall Minter, and JM Minter. She leaves to cherish her memories: one son, Harry Smith (Vera) of Sanford, NC; one grandson; one great-grandson; one great, great granddaughter and a host of family and friends.
