Vincent M. Paskey, 85, Detroit Lakes, MN died suddenly Wednesday, December 19 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 22 at 10AM in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Detroit Lakes. Visitation will be held Saturday from 8:30AM until the time of Mass.

Interment will be held in the spring at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Vincent Michael Paskey was born May 1, 1933 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Michael and May (Schmitz) Paskey. He was raised and educated in Waubun, MN graduating from Waubun High School in 1951.

On October 6, 1951, Vince was united in marriage to Delores “Lori” Jasken in St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, White Earth, MN. Vince attended college at UND and after college he started working for Western Electrical as an electrician. He worked in the electrical field for 31 years until his retirement.

Vince and his brother Ron founded Lake Crest Resort on Long Lake in Detroit Lakes, he later sold his interest to his brother and purchased Lakes Sport Shop which is currently owned and operated by the family today. Vince was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish.

He also enjoyed a day on the golf course and coffee every Wednesday with his friends. Vince always enjoyed watching sporting events of his children and later his grandchildren’s. In retirement, Vince and Lori travelled to many warm weather destinations, including several winters in South Padre Island.

. He was longtime member of the Elks and Eagles Club in Detroit Lakes and was also a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Vince was a devoted husband, loving father and a proud grandpa.

Vince will be remembered and missed by his wife of 67 years, Delores “Lori” of Detroit Lakes, along with their four children: Bruce (Pam) Paskey of Detroit Lakes, Carla Kirwin (Steve Feltman) of Grand Rapids, Brad (Cindy) Paskey of Alexandria and Doug (Terri) Paskey of Detroit Lakes. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren along with one brother: Ron (Ruth) Paskey of Detroit Lakes. He is preceded in death by his parents.
