Vincent “Vinny” G. Testa January 07, 1956 – March 23, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Vincent Guy Testa, known to his family and friends as “Vinny,” of Derry, New Hampshire entered the gates of heaven on March 23, 2019 at the of age 63, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Vinny was born on January 7, 1956 in Brookline, Massachusetts to Antonia (Tuccero) and Enrico Testa. He was the youngest of four children following his siblings, Judy, Vicky, and Ricky.
Vinny attended Watertown High School and went on to study history at a community college. In his younger years, Vinny could be found on the local basketball courts playing streetball for hours and hours. His passion for food stemmed from the close relationship he had with his mother, so naturally he was led into the restaurant business.
He became an entrepreneur as the proud owner and operator of The Gourmet Deli in Everett, Massachusetts, which he ran successfully for 17 years. This is where he met the love of his life, Rita Marie Lutkevich. The two quickly fell in love and were married a year and a half later, on November 22, 1986.
They bought a home in Derry, New Hampshire, and within six years they had four children. The need for a parent to be home became prominent, so Vinny sold his business and became a full-time dad, a role that was not popular at the time. Vinny was fully dedicated to the care of his wife and children and took on the domestic responsibilities while juggling school and sports schedules.
His family was his life, and he took great pride in all their achievements. His support was immeasurable as he attended every teacher conference, sports game, and awards ceremony. His love for family was unconditional, and when his father became ill, he dropped everything to be by his side until his passing.
Vinny always found a way to bless others with his talent for cooking. All who entered his home were welcomed with a homemade meal that was always made from scratch. Many family members, friends, sports teams, and church members experienced Vinny’s love around the table.
His need to feed did not end at home. Many a happy belly will recall his “sub days at Center School” and his extraordinary tailgates at Fairfield University field hockey games. Vinny also made sure that the community was fed by his weekly commitment to volunteering for the food ministry.
Above all else, Vinny was a man of God. On Sunday mornings, Vinny could be found in church raising both hands up with tears flowing from his face praising his savior. He wanted nothing more than for all to have a solid faith.
The same faith that carried him through his illness. Vinny will always be remembered as a man of integrity, a dedicated father and son, and a true disciple of God. Vinny is survived by his beloved wife, Rita Marie (Lutkevich) Testa; his four children, Ritamarie Antonia Testa and her husband Jay Sitter, Shealyn Leigh Testa, Linnea Briann Testa, and Luke Vincent Testa; his mother Antonia Testa; and his three siblings, Judith Eickhoff, Victoria Hubacheck, and Enrico “Ricky” Testa.
He was predeceased by his father, Enrico Testa. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 1-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road Windham, NH 03087. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday morning at the Central Congregational Church, 14 Crescent Street Derry, NH 03038.
