Viola Delia Valdez May 8, 1929 ~ April 19, 2018 Viola Delia Valdez, age 88, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 19, 2018. From her birth in Alamosa, Colorado on May 8, 1929 to her death on Thursday, she nourished people around her with love, food, laughter, and goodwill. She was the daughter of William Vigil and Sofia Garcia.

She married Joe Valdez on March 17, 1945 in Dragerton, Utah. Together they had four children. She loved to travel, camp, fish, crochet, eat out, do puzzles, shop, and spend time with family and friends.

She was also an amazing cook, and enjoyed making candy for the holidays. She was a great hostess for the family holidays and was always the classy lady in the room. Jewelry and heels were her thing, along with her great sense of humor and infectious smile that made everyone that met her, love her immediately.

She never had enemies only friends. Viola wasn’t just a homemaker, but a businesswoman also. She managed several apartments over the years, and her tenants loved her.

She went through many trials in life and was a great example of determination. Even in the end, she continued to fight to stay with her family. It didn’t matter how bad she felt or how much pain she was in her focus was always on others.

She was one of the most caring, selfless and giving women that has blessed this earth. She is so loved and will be dearly missed by so many. Viola is survived by her children, Jonnie Valdez, Dorthy (Bob) Colpitts, Esther Kamhoot, Terry Valdez (Sindi); her siblings, Tony (Myrtle), Amos (Betty); seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Valdez, her parents, a son-in law, one grandchild and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 11 am at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family on Monday, April 23 from 6 to 8 pm and Tuesday, April 24 from 9:30 – 10:45am at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
