Obituary for Violet B. Weber Violet “Skippy” Weber age 96, of Wheeler, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018. Skippy was born June 13, 1922 in Demotte, Indiana. As written per Skippy’s request.

“Skippy worked at the Chuck Wagon for two years in Glen Park. From there she went to the Mill where she drove a forklift tractor loading boxcar. From there she went to the Lake County Juvenile Center in Crown Point, Indiana where she cooked breakfast and lunch for the kids for 10 years and retired in 1987.

The kids liked ‘Ms. Skippy’ very much, she always had time for them”. Skippy is survived by her son, Robert (Connie) Swisher; granddaughter and caregiver Dawn Raleigh, grandson Samuel Swisher, granddaughter Candice White; great granddaughter Ashlee(Donald) Skalka, great grandson Roman White; great great granddaughter Ariana Skalka; along with numerous loving nieces and nephews. Skippy is preceded in death by her Parents, John and Elizabeth Swisher; Siblings; Ada, Helen, Anna, Charles, Frances, and Wesley Swisher.

Skippy wished to be cremated with no funeral services, however great granddaughter Ashlee will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Skippy in her home, 5455 Tulip Avenue Portage, Indiana on Sunday October 28, 2018 from 2-6.
