Violet Lafleta Turner Aud Veatch, 98 of McLeansboro, passed away at 5:50 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2019, at Hamilton Memorial Rehab & Healthcare in McLeansboro. She was born in Brownsville, IL on April 3, 1920, the daughter of Hayward Elmer and Lelia Violet (Anderson) Turner. Violet married Raymond Scott Aud in 1935 and they were blessed with six children, Shirley (Homer) Burnett, Ronnie Aud, Irene (Pennell) Cassa, Dave Aud, Judy (Larry) Will and Larry Aud.

She was widowed in 1956. She later married Daniel Veatch in 1961. They had a daughter Donna (Heil) Webb.

Violet had 4 step children. She sold real estate in California and will be missed by many. She survived 2 husbands, 3 sons, 2 stepsons, a stepdaughter, 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Violet is survived by four daughters, a stepdaughter, 16 grandchildren, 18 step grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren. Funeral services for Violet Veatch, 98, of McLeansboro, will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery in Carmi.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 12:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Memorial contributions may be made in Violet’s memory to the Carmi Township Cemeteries for maintenance at West Union Cemetery and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
