Violet M Lindstrom passed away peacefully in her sleep at Parkwood Healthcare Community in Bedford, TX on May 27, 2018 at 4:30am at the age of 98. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601-38th Avenue, Moline, with Pastor Jerry Schrick of Bethany Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. concluding with an Eastern Star Service conduced by the Orion Chapter 93.

Burial at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eastern Star Home, Children’s Burn Hospital, or charity of choice. Violet was born in Geneseo, Illinois on February 3, 1920.

She graduated from Geneseo Township High in 1938 and went on to earn her Nursing degree from Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing in 1941. Violet married Edwin Eugene “Gene” Lindstrom January 11, 1942. She worked as an Industrial Nurse at International Harvester in East Moline, IL until her retirement.

Violet enjoyed Counted Cross Stitch, even making up her own designs & Crocheting. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years. She was a Past Matron of OES Chapter 779 in East Moline and Orion Chapter 93 in Orion, IL, she was Past Grand Representative to Washington in IL and Past Grand Martha of IL OES.

She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Moline, IL. Violet is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Patricia “Penny” (Marvin) Beasley of Bedford, TX, and Dianna (Lyle) Knutson of Robins, IA; daughter-in-law, Vonnie Lindstrom of East Moline, IL; granddaughters, Cherie Slagel of Moline, IL; Kimberly (Mark) Ammons of Cedar Rapids, IA; Jennifer (Bill) Burge of Mitchellville, IA; and Mindy (Dana) MacKenzie of Fitchburg, MA; grandsons, Christopher Knutson of Windsor Heights, IA, and Jon Knutson of Hopkins, MN; great-grandchildren, Christian & David Slagel, Moline, IL; Michael & David Ammons, Cedar Rapids, IA; Brandy & Megan Burge, Mitchellville, IA; Malachi & Gabriel Knutson, Windsor Heights, IA; Ari Knutson, Hopkins, MN; Adam & Andrew MacKenzie, Alexis Banks, Fitchburg, MA; and Nieces, Nephews & Cousins in Florida, Illinois, Washington & Oregon. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin E Lindstrom; parents, William F and Mollie M. (Pinks) Hornecker; sisters, Lillian Husband and Helen Wigant; brothers, Raymond and William “Bill” Hornecker; son John Edwin Lindstrom; and daughter Ella Elizabeth Lindstrom.
