Obituary for Violet P. Hanks Violet Pearl Hanks, 77, of Cheyenne, went to be with our Lord on Monday, June 18, 2018 at University Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. She was born on July 16, 1940 in Stuart, Nebraska to Arthur and Agnes Horton on the family farm. She was the second of nine children, Dee Hock (deceased), Liz Greenwood, Angel Horton (deceased) Oliver Horton, Shirley Fisk, Share Bangert, and Randy Horton.

Vi was a full-time mother and worked as CNA at Mountainview Towers, specializing in the care of Alzheimer patients. She saw her profession as a calling from God. After retirement she continued to care for others by visiting them in the hospital and nursing home.

Vi also helped neighbors and offered a ride to those in need. She is survived by her 6 children, Sylvia McArtor, Sandra Wadlow, Donna Cartwright, Bonnie Larsen, Laura Schilz, and David Larsen;11 Grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hanks was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Hanks.

Memorial services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m., at Miracle Valley Church. Private family burial has taken place at Lakeview Cemetery. Please visit her webpage at wrcfuneral.com for complete information.
