Virgil Francis Jungman , October 27, 1954 — December 31, 2018

Virgil’s Obituary Virgil Francis Jungman, of La Coste, entered eternal rest on the evening of December 31, 2018, at the age of 64 years. He was born October 27, 1954 in Hondo, the youngest of three children of George John Jungman and Evelyn Lucille Keller Jungman. Virgil graduated from Medina Valley High School in 1973 and began working at Lacostex Oil Refinery in La Coste after graduation.

He then became a Master Plumber and worked for Castroville Appliance and Plumbing for over forty-six years, serving Castroville, La Coste and other communities in Medina County and the surrounding area. Virgil loved spending time with his grandsons and attending their activities. He loved playing pool and enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was fishing and swimming at the Medina River or deer hunting.

On September 21, 1981, he married Debra “Debbie” Leah Kowalik at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Virgil and Debbie were blessed with thirty-seven wonderful years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Jungman of La Coste; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Monica Nabors of Castroville; grandchildren, Nathan and Garrett Nabors; sister and brother-in-law, Georgia and Leonard Saathoff of Hondo; sister-in-law, Doris Elaine Jungman of Quihi as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, George and Evelyn Jungman and his brother, Russell Jungman. Visitation will be Sunday, January 6, 2019 starting at 4:30 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, with the Holy Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be Monday, January 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery.
