Virgil Kasper, 74, passed from this life on October 5, 2018, in his home in Enid, OK. He may have lost his battle with cancer here on Earth, but he gained eternal life in Heaven. Virgil is the son of John and Luella Kasper.

He was born February 18, 1944, in Apache, OK. He attended grade school and middle school in North Enid, and graduated from Kremlin High School in 1962. He later enrolled in a technical school in Oklahoma City.

Virgil enlisted in the United States Army Reserves with the 95th Division, from 1964-1970. He was employed at Enid Electric Motor Service as a machinist for 39 years. He was a master craftsman in woodworking, and a creative inventor of all things.

Virgil was truly a gifted craftsman, and enjoyed making things for family and friends, and even “invented” things to make life easier at work and for his family at home. The most treasured traits he possessed were that he was patient as a saint, selfless, and always led a very humble life. One brother said he was reliable, and a role model; someone he could always look up to.

His little brother said it best when he said Virgil always put his family above himself, and he did that until his very last breath. Virgil was married to the love of his life, Doris M. (Stephens) Kasper, for 45 years. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Luella, his oldest brother Raymond Kasper, a sister Loretta Jane Kasper, sister-in-law Barbara (Cook) Kasper, his youngest sister Treva J. (Kasper) Dayton, brother-in-law Charles Dayton, and an unborn grandchild.

He is survived by his wife Doris; his children De An and Bradley Davis, Cammey Kasper, Travis and Yen Kasper, Trenton (TJ) Kasper; grandchildren Dakota and Kaylee Thomas, Christian Davis, McKenzie, Haden and Levi Kasper, and great-grandson Jace Johnston; his sister-in-law Debra Kasper; his brothers Clifford Kasper, Leon and Colleen Kasper, Larry and Ginny Kasper, and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a Celebration of Life 2-4:00 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018, at the Champion Gym, 700 North 10th Street, in Enid, OK. Casual attire is requested.
