Virginia Miller, 78, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sept. 15, 2018. Born on Sept.

25, 1939 in Martins Ferry, OH, she was the daughter of the late Geno & Mary Rose Funari of St. Clairsville, OH. Virginia graduated with a BSN from Wheeling West Virginia School of Nursing. She started her career as a pediatric nurse in Pittsburgh, PA.

After moving to the Boston area in 1972, she expanded her nursing career working with seniors at Plymouth County Hospital and Queen Anne’s Nursing Home. In 1995, she earned an Associates Degree of Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College. One of Ginny’s greatest accomplishments and joys was being the Director of the Kennedy-Donovan Center, a non-profit organization that supports people with developmental delays, disabilities, or family challenges.

Other activities that she enjoyed was being a Brownie Leader, a member of The Home For Little Wanderers, a Lioness, a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church, the Red Hat Society, as well as helping at the Norwell Council on Aging. She was a very devoted wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother – as well as a very devoted friend. She is survived by 3 children, Michele (Randy), Michael (Heather), Timothy (Susan), her brother Julius and his wife Helen, nieces Kim and Kathy; and grandchildren, Megan, Brandon, Tessa, Christian, Ryan, Hannah, Jessica, Emma, and Faith – as well as her great-grandson, Adam.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018 from 4-8 pm in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 30 Central St (off Rt 123, near State police barracks), Norwell Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Sept.

28, 2018 at 10 am in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St., Scituate Harbor, followed by a private burial. If desired, donations may be made to the Kennedy-Donovan Centers, 1 Commercial St., Foxboro, MA. 02035.
