Vivian Darlene Kelly, 87, of Shelbyville, IL passed away at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Aspen Creek in Sullivan, IL. Vivian was born February 14, 1931, in Westfield, IL, the daughter of Virgil and Pauline (Rogers) Parker. She married Walter Allen Kelly on July 1, 1955 in Toledo, IL and he preceded her in death on March 5, 1990.

She was employed as a… Read More » teacher’s aide at Vine Street School, Main Street School and the Kindergarten Center in Shelbyville from 1967-2005. She loved teaching the children.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Beta Sigma Phi, Shelby County Home Extension, the Domino Club and the Red Hat Society, all in Shelbyville. She was an avid reader who treasured her books. She also loved gardening, sewing, cooking and most of all, looking after her grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughter, Letitia (Randy) Swartz of Shelbyville; grandchildren: Heather (Greg) Zike of Savoy, IL and Trevor Frantz (Libby) of Shelbyville; nine great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren: Kris (Steve) Hermansson of Woodstock, Amy (Kurt) Leifheit of Mattoon and Sarah (Cory) Watkins of Tuscola. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Pauline; husband, Walter and a sister and brother both at birth. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home in Shelbyville.

Burial will take place in Wright Cemetery in rural Findlay. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 18, 2018 at Lockart-Green Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
