Hampton, 88, of 411 Columbia Avenue, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at home after an illness of one year. Born in Catawissa on April 29, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy (Fisher) Lindenmuth. She received her GED from Mount Carmel Area High School in 1987.

“Dolly” was a lifelong resident of Aristes and was employed at the Arrow Shirt Factory and later as a CNA at Mount Carmel Nursing Home. On January 1, 1947 she married the love of her life and her very best friend the late Robert Hampton, who preceded her in death on December 6, 2008. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Aristes, the Aristes Fire Company #1, Wilburton Senior Center, Fireman’s Relief Association, Relay for Life-Southern Relay, Judge of Election for Conyngham Township and Wilburton #2 Fire Company.

Vivian was an avid baker, quilter, and enjoyed camping. She was well known throughout her community, as she was a loving, kind and generous person touching so many lives. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Survivors include three daughters and two sons, Diane Armstrong of Fredericksburg, VA; Dennis Hampton of State College; Donna Buhay and her husband John of Mount Carmel; William Hampton and his wife Kathryn of Aristes and Susan Darrah and her husband Edward of Wilburton; one brother, Henry Lindenmuth; two sisters, Opal Showers and Martha Hart; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son Robert A. Hampton and his wife Barbara; a grandson Joshua E. Hampton; two brothers and four sisters. FUNERAL NOTICE Vivian “Dolly” H. Hampton, 88, of 411 Columbia Avenue, Aristes – Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 11:00 am in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel with Pastor Bonnie Yeager, officiating.

Burial will be in the Aristes Cemetery. Viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 and Thursday morning from 10:00 until the time of service in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 North Vine Street, Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, Supervisor. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Aristes Fire Company, 500 Columbia Avenue, Aristes, PA 17920.
