Vivian’s Obituary Vivian M. Sciacca, (nee Karow), 93, a resident of Towamencin Township, entered into rest February 19, 2019. Born Jan. 4, 1926 in Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, she was the last remaining sibling of eight born to Wilhelm Karau (later changed to Karow) and Johanna (Radtke) Karow.

She was married for 57 years to the late Alfred F. Sciacca, who preceded her in death in May 2008. Vivian’s mother passed away when she was two and she was raised by her father and eldest sister Anna. Vivian was a member of Friedens Union Church in Sumneytown and later St. John’s Lutheran Church in Green Lane, Sumneytown.

She worked at various hosiery mills, producing parachutes for the war, and traveled to other states, particularly Rhode Island, to teach others the trade. After World War II, she would spend the rest of her life as a homemaker with Alfred. She and her sister Johanna met Alfred and his brother, Harry, in Lansdale, with each of them marrying, and the rest is history.

Alfred and Vivian had no children of their own, but treated their niece Diane Sciacca Di Domizio as such. Vivian enjoyed gardening and spending time with her nieces and nephews. She loved a good burger, Roy Ann Diner and Henning’s funny cake.

Most of all, Vivian had a unique sense of fashion and never met a great pair of heels or purse she didn’t like. She was preceded in death by her seven siblings: Anna Moore (married to Roy), Charles Karow (married to Anna and Fran), Clara Clemons (married to Jacob Ruppert and John Clemons), Evelyn Connor (married to Claude), William Karow (married to Rita), Frieda Schlectic (married to John), and Johanna Sciacca (married to Harry). Vivian is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Donations can be made in her name to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 3104 Main St., Green Lane, PA 18054. Condolences may be sent to her niece, Diane (Sciacca) Di Domizio, at 1804 Robin Dr., Hatfield, PA 19440.
