OBITUARY Walter Decherd “Goggie” December 19, 1935 – January 20, 2019 Walter “Goggie” Decherd, 83, of Friendswood, Texas passed away on January 20, 2019. He was born in Corsicana, Texas on December 19, 1935 to Walter Hawkins and Eleda Maude Decherd. He was married to Connie Decherd for 63 years.

They were members of Sagemont Church. He started Goggie’s Pizza and ran it for about 20 years and then became a new home salesman, before retiring. Goggie had a passion for fishing, camping, traveling, but most of all his family!

He will be dearly missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Denni Decherd Michalak; brother Tommy Decherd and grandson Taylor Williamson. He is survived by his loving wife Connie Decherd; daughter Rhonda Garner (Pat); son Walt Decherd (Amanda); 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas, 77598. Goggie’s Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Forest Park East with interment in Forest Park East Cemetery.
