Walter’s Obituary IVEY, Walter J. – of Davison, age 84, passed away March 19, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd. , Davison, Michigan 4842; Pastor Chris Radcliffe officiating.

Burial will be in Pinconning Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 3 PM – 8 PM. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service on Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Walter was born in Fraser Township of Bay County, Michigan on June 28, 1934, son of the late Walter M. & Electa F. (Wells) Ivey. He married Shirley Steele on January 30, 1954.

She preceded him in death on May 21, 2018. Walter served in the National Guard as a medic during the Beecher tornado and during the riots in Detroit. He retired from AC Spark Plug after 45 years of service where he was a member of Local 651.

Walter enjoyed studying the Bible, coin collecting and archeology. Walter is survived by his three children, Mike (Georgia) Ivey, Walter Ivey and Susan Parker; grandchildren, Tony, Michelle, Ian, Phoebe, Devin, Amanda, Wally, Brandon, Dustin and Sierra; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Nicholas, Trenton, Nathan, Taryn, Noelle, Aubrey, Colin, Avira and Emmett; son-in-law, Terry Goodall; brothers, Randy (Carol) Ivey, John (Angie) Ivey and George (Candy) Ivey; sister, Annie Schnell. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Joni Goodall and sister, Diane Schukait.
