Phyllis’ Obituary SPENCER, Phyllis Joyce (Kitchin) – of Flint, formerly of Montrose, age 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Flint First Wesleyan Church, 3825 Davison Rd. , Flint, MI 48506; Pastor Scott Grigonis officiating.

Burial will be in Montrose Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 1–8 PM Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd. , Davison, MI 48423.

There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flint First Wesleyan Church. Phyllis was born in Cass City, MI on March 5, 1937, daughter of the late William and Esther (Snyder) Kitchin.

She married John G. Spencer on August 10, 1957 at the Mizpah United Missionary Church. He preceded her in death on December 12, 2017. Phyllis was a member of the Flint First Wesleyan Church, where she was a “Prayer Warrior” and “Encourager”.

She was an avid “Red Bird” lover. Phyllis is survived by her children, David (Gail) Spencer of New Johnsonville, TN, Joyce (Robert) Stratton of Midland, Carol (David) Richardson of Davison, Daniel (Marilyn) Spencer of Camden, TN; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Irvin (Ruth Ann) Kitchin. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John; grandson, Russell Spencer; siblings, Roy Kitchin, Ruth Ursery; parents-in-law, Louis and Mary (Shannon) Spencer; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Betty Jean Spencer, Robert and Georgetta Stansfield; best friend, Jeannetta Dalasinski.
