Walter J Makowski, 92 of Bellaire, died peacefully, Monday, November 12, 2018 at home. He was born July 16, 1926 in Dearborn the son of John and Verna (Perry) Makowski. Walter proudly served in the US Army during WWII.

He worked for the United States Postal Service in Garden City and retired after 42 years. Upon retirement he moved to Bellaire and built his home with grandson Ryan. He began his second career working at Shanty Creek Resorts for another 20 years.

Walter was often found mowing lawns and driving the shuttle bus. On June 26, 1948 in Dearborn, he married Carol Ann Dalian who survives. Also surviving are his children Debbie Wilson of Howell, Todd (Jayme) Makowski of Bellaire, grandchildren Ryan (Christy) Wilson, Brandon Wilson, Sarah (Derek) Woycehoski, Zachary (Shyla) Dunson, Cassidee Makowski, Kameron Sapsford, great grandchildren Megan, Kylie, Hannah, Emma, Brady, Rylee, and several nieces and nephews.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughters Cheryl Sapsford and Pam Dunson. No services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions can be made to the family.
