“Together Again” Walter Sahli 92, of Parkland, passed away on April 22, 2018. Walt was born in Tacoma, Washington on March 22, 1926 to Walter Sahli and Bertha Koch. He grew up in the Lakeview and Spanaway area attending Kapowsin High School and graduating from Lincoln High School after serving in WWII.

He attended Pacific Lutheran University where he graduated with a degree in Biology and Education. Walt married Phyllis Washburn, of Tacoma, in 1950. They had three children together.

Phyllis… Read More » predeceased him in death in 2011. Walt worked for the Bethel School District for 30 years starting as a 6th grade teacher, he moved to Bethel H.S. as the Biology teacher and eventually became the Counselor, and then Assistant Principal. Walt loved the outdoors.

He regularly took his family camping, fishing and razor clam digging at Ocean Shores. Over the years he fished the rivers, sound and ocean throughout Western Washington. His other interests included gardening, time with family and friends, traveling and sports.

He was a lifetime fan of PLU football. Walt is survived by his sister, Mary Ann Camphous (Dale); brother Jim Sahli (Sandy); and his three children, Paula Novotney (Dennis), Brian Sahli, and Lon Sahli (Roxanne); and his grandchildren: Dawn (Ben) Leischner, Loni (Jeff) Parks, Christina McKenzie, Mathew Coon and Natalie Sahli (Kieran Lavelle) and 8 great grandchildren.
