Wanda’s Obituary Wanda Louise Pitman, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 6, 2019, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, May 11, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave. , Bismarck.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck. Burial is at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Wanda was born to Omer Vester and Susan Katie (Leeper) Williams in Tecumseh, OK, on September 6, 1929.

She married the love of her life, Foy Pitman, on December 21, 1945, in Shawnee, OK, and the couple were married for 65 years until Foy’s passing. In 1952 they moved to Williston, ND, where they raised their four children. After Foy’s retirement in 1979 they enjoyed traveling through Canada, the eastern coast of the USA, and parts of the south, which she really enjoyed.

They also spent some winters in McAllen, TX. After spending several winters in Mesa, AZ, they moved there in 2005. Wanda lived her last three years in Bismarck, where she became a member of Evangel Church and really enjoyed the services and seniors group events.

Wanda enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes, gardening, flowers, birds, music, and playing Skipbo. She loved to go shopping and find a good bargain. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and meeting and talking to new people.

Wanda is survived by her four children, Dennis Pitman, Bismarck, Don (Andrea) Pitman, Bismarck, David (Penny) Pitman, Williston, and Debbie (Jim) Deal, Tempe, AZ; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Garver, El Cajon, CA, and Martha French, Tecumseh, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband, Foy, in 2010; her parents; sisters, Pauline Means, Kathryn Crouch, and Virginia Williams; brother, Vester Williams; granddaughter, Sarah; and great-granddaughters, Charissa, Elizabeth, Shawnee and Ariel.
