Wanda June Lane, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend, joined the Heavenly Father on October 6, 2018. She passed away at home with her family at her side following a lengthy illness. Born February 1, 1934, Wanda was the only child of Timothy Belle-Mounger-Teague-Russell and Grover Mounger “Daddy Wolf” and stepfather, Howard Teague “Poppy Howard”.

Wanda was a lifelong resident of OKC where she met the love of her life, Richard Leon Lane, while working as a car hop at the Flying Chicken on Classen Blvd. Wanda and her dearest friend, Gail Adams, were hired to deter the “teenage crowd” from the restaurant. Richard and Wanda were married for 64 years and raised three children.

She served the Catholic Archdiocese and St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church for nearly 40 years as a trusted administrative assistant to numerous local priests and Church officials. Wanda was the heart of her family and the glue that kept it together. Her soft soothing voice and cool temperament could solve any problem.

Her words of encouragement and optimism were always a guiding light in times of trouble. Wanda always put her family’s needs before her own. She was the consummate caregiver and nurturer.

She is survived by her loving and adoring husband, Richard Leon, her daughter, Cindy Ehart and husband Steve, son, Richard and wife Bridgette, daughter-in-law, Marissa Lane, sisters-in-law, Hettie Lane and LaVonne Whitney, grandchildren, Ryan Ehart and wife Rachel, Oliva Lane, Alexandra Lane, Steven Bryant and wife Mindy, Andrews Bryant and wife Jennifer, great grandchildren, Hattie Bryant, Tripp Bryant, nieces and nephews, David and Katherine Whitney and their children Matthew and Lane, and the most recent and possibly favorite addition to the family, puppy Rascal.
