Warren Proctor January 12, 1921 – February 14, 2019 Share this obituary Upload Photo| Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries Warren Proctor passed from this life to Heaven at 1:00 a.m. on February 14, 2019 at the age of 98. He was born the youngest son of Walter Fred and Delia Jane Proctor on January 12, 1921 in Eldorado, Oklahoma. He grew up with three brothers; George, Fred, and Henry and an older sister, Mary on a farm in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma where he learned his work ethics.

He was enrolled in University of Oklahoma when the US was attacked by Japan. He left school and enlisted in the US Navy. Stationed in Detroit, Michigan an later Naval Air Station-Kingsville, he served 4 years.

After his discharge, he attended and graduated from Texas A & I University in Kingsville with an Agricultural degree. His various jobs included being County Agent in Jefferson; a forester in the Land Department at Lone Star Steel where he also served as Assistant Fire Chief; worked 20 years for the US Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service as a Certified Professional Agronomist in Lamesa, Hebbronville, Spearman and San Augustine, Texas. He retired at the age of 60 and lived the past 38 years in East Texas in Hughes Springs and Lake O’ the Pines.

He was always active in the community and a devout Christian and man of God. He was a member and held numerous offices in the Lions Club for over 70 years; Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite and Eastern Star; Soil Conservation Society of America and the American Legion. Warren is survived by Wanda Mitchell, his lady friend and companion for past 20 years; daughter, Shirley K. Bednorz (John); son, Jodie Harris, Jr. (Holly); grandchildren, Robert Creighton, Alan Creighton(Amanda), Lori Massey (Jeff); Holly Norvell (Jason) and Sandy Strickland (Jason); great-grandchildren, Arnold Bednorz (Angela); Kaedin Creighton, Tripp Creighton, Knox Creighton, Kingston Creighton, Libby and Savannah Norvell; nieces and nephews, Ross (Stephanie) and Dale (Jan) Boothman, Beth D’Ann Braley (John) Margret Proctor (Alan), Catherine Proctor and Eddie Proctor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings; and wives, Earline Boothman Proctor, Nellie Rhene McIntyre Proctor, and Adelle Harris Proctor. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2019 at North Shore Baptist Church. There will be a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

A private family burial will take place at 12:00 noon, Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Altus, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to any Lions’ charity such as Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville, Texas; Endowment Fund for Transplant Services Center at UT Southwestern Medical Foundation Dallas, Texas or World Services for the Blind in Little Rock, Arkansas.
