Miller, Wayne Bruce, 68. Born March 17, 1950 and passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on January 4, 2019 after a valiant battle with ALS. He is proceeded in death by parents; Earl “Moe” and Verdeen (Durst) Miller and brother, Kevin.

Lovingly cared for and survived by his wife of 40 years, Kimberly D. Miller and only child, daughter, Sarah D. Smith (Chad Smith-Harrisburg). He is also survived by his two precious grandsons whom he loved to watch grow and learn: Elijah C. and Ezra J. Smith. Also survived by brother, Roger Miller (Cheri Mort), TN, Aunt Eleanor and Uncle John Shumaker, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne was a graduate of WHHS Class of 1968. He received a bachelor’s degree from Concord College and later earned a Master’s from St. Francis College. He was a member of the Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship where he served as an usher for many years.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and cheering on his favorite sports teams: PSU, The Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. He also enjoyed roles in numerous Easter Passion Plays at church. He was blessed with numerous angels who selflessly gave of their time, at any hour, to help him.

Special thanks to Jim and Mary Ann Wilson, Kerry and Amy Tomb, Carmella Kauffman and multiple family and friends. A heartfelt thank you for the outstanding care and services that he received from Windber Hospice and The Western PA Chapter of ALS. Friends will be received from 2-7 PM Sunday, January 6 at Henderson Funeral Home, East Hills 2503 Bedford Street.

Additional viewing will be held at 10a.m. Monday, January 7 until the time of service at 11AM at the Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship. Pastor James L. Gay officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Wayne’s memory to Windber Hospice, Western PA Chapter of ALS or to the Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship.

Interment Richland Cemetery.
