Wayne’s Obituary Sherman “Wayne” Forst, 88, passed Monday, February 4, 2019 peacefully at home. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War and was on the Honor Flight in 2016. He had worked for Es Wire and Sears both for over 20 years and then was a bus driver for FWCS.

Wayne had personally designed and hand built the home that he and his wife live in and he enjoyed a well manicured lawn. They spent 22 years wintering in Sarasota. He was a member of Mt.

Calvary Lutheran Church. Wayne was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather that will be greatly missed. He was a stranger to no one, always offering a helping hand.

He is survived by loving wife of 68 years, Dolores “Doty” Forst of Fort Wayne; daughter, Pamela (Eric) Easterday of Leo; sister, Wanda Hart of Fort Wayne; two grandchildren, Erica (Cory) Dold and Patrick (Pam) Easterday; and great grandchildren, Lainey, twins Hunter and Noah, Aiden, Callen and one on the way, Jameson; three nephews, Dan, Jim and Perry. He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Allen. Funeral service is 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 1819 Reservation Dr. Fort Wayne, with calling two hours prior to the service.

Officiating will be pastor Nathan Whittaker. He will be entombed at Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials are to church or NE Indiana Honor Flight.
