Obituary for Wayne R. Goforth Sr. Wayne R. Goforth Sr., loving husband of Sharon Hampu (Moore); stepfather to Janine (Michael) Krokey and Michael (Nikki) Hampu. Father to Sharon (Tony) Filipic, Wayne Jr. (Colleen) and Pamela (Tom) Braun – the children of the late Betty Goforth. Dear brother of Ray (Betty), Allen (the late Cora), Robert (Beth) and Barb (the late Albert).
Preceded in death by his parents James and Fanchion and by his brothers and sisters, Faye (Dan), Ralph, Art (Jean-surviving), Jim (Mary Jean), Avery (Judy) and Lisa. Loving grandfather of Gabriel Krokey, Katelyn, Tyler and Hailey Hampu, Megan (Brian) Lennex, Wayne Richard III, Michael, Lisa, Amber and Katie Goforth, Sara Podmanik, Samantha (Steve) Hruschak, Rachel and Ryan Braun and Michael (Ashley) Filipic; great-grandfather of Amelia and Jasper Lennex, Jaden, Talon and Mikayla Goforth, Raylan Hruschak, Ava Braun and Anthony and Emery Filipic. Dear uncle of 31.
Proud U.S. Army Veteran. He had been an officer in the West Park Veterans Association for many years. Founder and President of Progressive Crane Inc. with many locations in the U.S. including Cleveland, from 1968-2005.
It was a family business and he was thankful for the hundreds of dedicated employees he had until he sold it in 2005. He enjoyed his retirement winter months as a resident of Brittany Estates in Leesburg, FL. Visitation is 4-8 p.m., Monday, June 25, and 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd.
, North Olmsted. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 27, at St. Mary Church, 250 Kraft St., Berea. The family wishes to thank the caregivers and doctors at St. Vincent Charity Medical Center, St. Vincent Home Care, Nivalis Hospice or Parma Hospital Rehab, where memorial contributions may be directed.
